wuan, when did you take that pic of SMI? i was just in SMI (actually just the canteen – might blog about it soon) yesterday and today. i was attending a workshop held at the la salle centre which is next to SMI.
Wish I could go back a few years and return to the old school.I left school as soon as Malaya was having her independence and we had to learn Malay in school.I was in Form 4 A.I joined the school in 1947 at the age of 7years.I left Malaysia in 1948 and hitchhiked to Europe with only 150 dollars and a school atlas to guide me on my way,ha,ha.It took me 7 months to reach the UK.Travelled through India,Pakistan,Afghanistan,Persia,Turkey,Greece,Italy,France and then England. Is the mosque still standing in front of the school? I nowadays live in a little German village near the border of Germany and Netherlands instead of Spooner Road near Buntong village by the Sunghi Pari river.

hello,
My husband was from SMI.There was this teacher he used to talk about. Mrs Ann Muthiah. I think she taught English or Math (not sure) and she was there in the 80′s.She has left since. Anyone know her contact?
Dear Sharon,
We will find out for you of Mrs Ann Muthiah and how you can go about contacting her. It’s great to know that St Michael’s has produced many outstanding Malaysians who are now residing in various parts of the world. Feel free to visit us at peterkhiew.blogspot.com
Warm wishes from St Michael’s. And to Raven Lee.. your years in St Michael’s had made an impact to many students and teachers. Feel free to come over. To all Michaelians, come visit us whenever you are in Ipoh.
My alma mater…….. what can i say, that have not been already said!!! Been there frm Std 1 to
Frm 5. Never could find the right words to say about SMI. You have to be a student there to know
and feel the experience. Years after i have left ….. Still the memories shines like a beacon.
Call it anything you want, but it was truly my life’s most cherished moments …. guess it’s likewise for other brothers of SMI, irrelevant of race. We were united. We’ll all be…forever..
wherever we are. Proud, we are of our REAL HERITAGE!!! Thank you for the memories…Thank you Dear Teachers, Friends and Brothers. We are, what we are, because of You.
Every where we go… People wanna know… who we are…WE ARE THE MICHAELIANS,MIGHTY MIGHTY MICHAELIANS!! A special thanks to Bernard Chauly for The Goodbye Boys. Thanks for highlighting
our dearest school.
